Project Scope
Sister Stan Terese Mumuni is a Ghanan national and has worked as a missionary for 16 years in West Africa. Her faithful service has earned her the esteem and blessing of the Yendi Catholic diocese to now reach out in a very powerful way with the love of Jesus in her home country of Ghana. A diabolical practice that exists locally is to ritually kill children who are born with any physical deformity, disability, or even an anomaly (such as twins). Sister Stan describes her response to this evil: “we give ourselves to God for the service of persons who are poor: we meet the needs of our dehumanized brothers and sisters, the most abandoned, the marginalized, and those cut off from the sunlight of companionship in our large human family. We are called to the vocation of love.”

With about 6 acres of land acquired now, Sister Stan plans to establish an orphanage to provide shelter for these abandoned children (50 children in phase 1). Future plans will also include a primary/secondary school, a vocational school, a medical facility, and an animal and vegetable farm. The first goal of the ministry is to rescue these children and then, in time, to demonstrate to the parents and community at large that the children are not “evil spirits” and that they can and should be loved and cared for.

EMI is privileged to partner with Sister Stan Terese Mumuni as she seeks to demonstrate Christ’s love with the redemptive picture that Jesus gave when he said “let the little children come to Me”.
