Project Scope
Samfya Bible School is a vital ministry that works to train and support church leaders of the poor rural churches of Bemba speaking Zambia as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo. The graduates of this school are usually subsistence farmers, working hard to evangelize and teach with the larger goal of church planting. They are active and passionate about living for Christ and they are making a huge difference in their communities.
The Bible School is situated on the side of Lake Bangweulu in the Luapula Province of Zambia. They currently have a one year Bible program but are looking to expand to a second year to give advanced training in areas such as Pastoral Ministry, Christian Ministry and Education (Youth, Women’s, Prison, and Literacy) and Missions (church planting and evangelism).
Being an old Mission Station, the Bible School has many aging, mud brick buildings that can no longer be repaired and maintained. As a result, the school board desires to establish a new master plan that will begin to phase out old buildings and see new facilities that will enhance and grow this vital work. We are looking for architects to help with the master planning, civil engineers to assist in the water and wastewater system design, an agricultural engineer to consult on how best to use their land to train the students as well as the best water system to use to meet the Ag needs, an electrical engineer to help with power distribution, a surveyor to survey the property, and a graphic designer to help with promotional materials.
The Samfya Bible School board is made up of men and women from Bemba speaking areas who know the needs of the rural churches. Their vision is to see local church ministries grow in their appreciation for the Word of God so they can be equipped to help meet the many needs of the rural population, in particular the challenges brought on by the growing orphan and widow populations due to HIV/Aids. Come use the skills and talents God has gifted you with to help this vital local ministry in its efforts to serve the poor and expand the Kingdom of God in Zambia.
