Original Project Scope
Africa Renewal Ministries (ARM) vision is to reach the lost and to renew the people of Africa through salvation and education. They desire to accomplish this through the love of Christ who provides hope in desperate circumstances.
Pastor Peter Kasirivu founded this ministry in 1989 and, with God's guidance, has grown it from a house church of 15 people to a congregation of over 1,000 people who participate in the various ministries of ARM. (http://www.africarenewal.org/)
In 2004, EMI designed the master plan for the Bethany Village which is located on a remote peninsula that extends into Lake Victoria, and is typically accessed by boat. Over the past two years, ARM has been diligently constructing the village to include orphanage homes, a primary school, clinic, church, and retreat center.
ARM currently runs a program that sponsors about 4,000 children in Uganda. ARM already has a boarding school for approximately 500 primary school children; however, when they reach secondary school, they either have to attend day school or go to a secular boarding school. However, ARM desires to nurture the children spiritually as well as educationally as they grow and want to develop a boarding school for the secondary students to provide a Christian education for their students. They have acquired approximately 20 acres of nearby land upon which to develop the secondary school. This new facility is planned to accommodate up to 800 students.
Come to use your design skills on the shores of Lake Victoria to make a lasting impact on the lives of the children of Uganda!
