Project Scope
Favor of God Ministries is located in Northern Uganda in Gulu District. It began as a result of a vision within the heart of a group of Acholi believers to see their people, who have been ravaged by war for the last twenty years, to be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a result of attacks by the rebel group called the "Lord's Resistance Army," there are about 2 million people who have been forced to live in crowded camps for the duration of the war and have suffered from child abductions, rebel attacks, congested living conditions, famine, disease, and spiritual and social deprivation for almost twenty years. The vision of Favor of God Ministries is to bring evangelism and discipleship training, church planting, children's ministries, medical, academic and vocational training, and children's homes to the northern areas as well as prayer houses and altars throughout Northern Uganda.
Favor of God has been active and growing in its ministry, all in rented or temporary facilities, and have finally purchaced property to begin building permanent facilities. The purpose of this EMI project is to design a master site plan to serve Favor of God Ministries. They desire to build a children's village and primary school for war affected orphans and those who have been rescued from abduction. The land for this new project is approximately 4 acres and will not fit the whole vision at once, therefore; the eMi team will have to carefully plan the use of the site so that it can be expanded onto adjacent property in the future. Come be a part of an EMI team serving children and adults who are the victims of a 20 year war.
