Original Project Scope
Music for Life’s mission statement is: “Helping Africa’s most vulnerable children today, so they can help Africa tomorrow.” Through Music for Life, thousands of children in Uganda, Kenya, Southern Sudan, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa are sponsored through their school years.

A special division of their work is the African Children’s Choir program. At least once a year, approximately 25 needy children are selected and trained as a choir. The choir then travels around the world, performing concerts and raising awareness and funds for children back in Africa (http://www.africanchildrenschoir.com).

When Ugandan and Rwandese children return home from choir tour, they attend Music For Life Primary School. Their goal is to provide an excellent education within a Christian atmosphere, so that the students will be truly equipped to make a difference in society. After finishing primary school, they continue to have their education sponsored by Music For Life through secondary school and often post-secondary studies.

Their current primary boarding school is already over capacity and because it is in the middle of the city of Kampala, the local environment is often not good (in terms of dust, pollution, and crime), and presently the children do not have a playground. For these reasons, they are seeking to relocate the school to a larger property outside the city limits.

eMi has committed to providing a site master plan for their newly purchased piece of property reflecting how the land can be used effectively and efficiently as well as Phase 1 detailed design including: a school block, boys’ and girls’ dormitories, dining hall/kitchen, assembly room, office block, teachers’ housing, latrines/bathing facilities, playing fields, principal’s house and choir training centre.

Come to this Lake Victoria front property to use your skills to provide a primary school for some of the neediest children of Africa.
