Original Project Scope
Ingrid Wilts is a single Christain worker from Holland who came to Uganda in 1981 to serve Jesus. Since then she has been robbed, shot, and falsely accused of witchcraft and being a rebel leader. Despite these trials Ingrid has emerged as an inspirational testimony of faith in Christ. Having known the trials of being a Christain worker in East Africa, today she leads a restoration ministry for the broken-hearted on the banks of the River Nile. Mto Moyoni is Swahili for “River in the Heart”.
Emotionally, spiritually and physically, life for many East African Christian leaders can be very trying. Life can be overwhelming for those walking in the will of the Lord. During periods of extremely discouraging times it would seem that there is no viable option when seeking time to rejuvenate ones relationship with the Lord.
The central purpose for the Mto Moyoni Retreat Center is to serve as a retreat center for Christian leaders, childcare and gospel workers. To provide them with that time of rejuvenation so necessary to continue in the Christian faith. Mto Moyoni is a source for Christian guidance through one-on-one Christian counseling as well as group seminars and conferences. It shall be a safe haven of retreat, worship, and search for continued guidance from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Come use your design skills at the beautiful mouth of the River Nile and the world’s second largest lake, Lake Victoria. You will be blessing East Africa’s leaders so that they may continue to bring Jesus to the millions of East Africans.
