Kids Across Africa Camps
(a division of Kids Across America Camps & Kanakuk Kamps)
EMI Project 5465
July 13 - 27, 2008
Project Scope
Kids Across Africa is constructing a new camp on the African Continent two hours outside of Kigali, Rwanda on a beautiful lake-side site of 120 acres. They need the expertise of EMI to help them "Make their Camp Dreams Come True!" (as their website says). We will help them survey their land, develop a master plan for accommodating 1000 kids, and create the designs and detailed construction documents for phase one of this three phased development.
The 120 acre site for this project, KAAC first project outside of the USA, is in the "great lakes" region of northern Rwanda. The area was made famous by the movie Gorillas in the Mist. The volcano's sounding the lake on which this site is located are the only habitat for silver back mountain gorillas.
The ministry that will take place at this camp will be instrumental in healing the deep generational wounds inflicted on the children of Rwanda by the genocide. The facilities will ultimately include housing in cabins, indoor and outdoor meeting facilities, kitchen and dining facilities, and extensive sports fields and complexes.
This is an exciting ministry that is bringing considerable spiritual and experience-based resources to bear on the tortured youth of Rwanda. Come with EMI as we are part of a new legacy for Rwanda, bringing healing and restoration - designing a world of hope!
