Project Scope
Sierra Leone has been through a tremendous civil war (recently documented in the movie "Blood Diamonds"). This conflict changed the capital of Freetown from a coastal city of 400,000 to a huge displaced people camp of more than 2,000,000 people. During the war, the infrastructure was destroyed, leaving no municipal power, water, sewer, or trash collection.
Imagine that bursting city of 2,000,000 without a large hospital - just clinics to serve all the people. The need for a hospital is huge! That is where Heart of Africa and The Granville Sharp Trust come in - they are building a new Christian hospital and have asked us to provide the design. The property was formerly used as a retreat and conference center before the war. During the war, it was sometimes an army base, sometimes a refugee center. Now, it will become a place of physical and spiritual healing!
Please consider joining us in reaching out to one of the poorest countries in the world!
