Project Scope
CAM (Central American Mission) is a non-denominational mission-sending agency engaged in church-planting, evangelism, leadership training, education, medical and dental assistance, youth ministries and many other mercy ministry outreaches. For nearly a decade they had focused on obtaining land for a camp and conference center in central Mexico, between Mexico City and Queretaro, in the vicinity of Amealco. Their purposes of evangelism and discipleship will be accomplished in a natural outdoor setting that combines a sense of both refuge and challenge.
In the Fall of 2004, eMi sent the first team to survey the land, prepare a master plan for the development of the camp and conference center and a prototype design for cabins that have begun to be constructed.
Today, CAM representatives are more than ready to proceed with the design of a multi-purpose building to serve recreation, dining, and general meeting functions. An architect and structural engineer will be chiefly responsible for this part of the project.
Also, a critical missing member of the first eMi design team was a site planner and/or landscape architect to study thoroughly all the master plan issues and soil erosion problems. This team needs to concentrate highly on a detailed study/survey of existing trees, landscape, and topography and propose a site design that promotes aesthetics, reduces erosion, and provides visual screening and noise attenuation.
