  • DATE: 10/31/10 and 11/1/10 – (Cyclist are invited to dress up {Bible characters} for a fun Halloween ride! But not required.) Monday, November 1, 2010 (Prayer for the Nations Ride)
  • DISTANCE: ride either 38 and/or 62 miles ( 100 Kilometer ), for a total of 100 miles for both days.

    Monday a 62 miler (i.e. 100 kilometer), thru the mountain roads around Black Mountain. Click here to see proposed route.
  • START & FINISH: Ridgecrest, North Carolina at the Ridgecrest ( Lifeway ) Conference Center.

  • This will follow the EMI 2020 Vision conference, held in Ridgecrest, NC. This Biking event will be a fund raiser, with funds going toward EMI ministry expansion around the world.

    We are looking for 25-50+ passionate riders to join us for the 1.5 day long ride(s). Whether you are an advanced cyclist or a beginner, you are welcome to ride for one day or both days! Come on your own or form a team. Join us for an adventure of fellowship, prayer, building relationships, and raising money to help fund a world of hope.

    The bike ride will start at the Ridgecrest Conference entrance, at 1pm, Sunday, 31 October, 2010 and will ride east approximately 38 miles (past the Old Fort area.) On Monday, 1 November, riders will also start at the Ridgecrest Conference entrance, and bike west ~ 62 miles in a past Black Mountain. Both events will end at the entrance of Ridgecrest Conference Center.

    EMI will provide for all riders:
  • Water & food stations every 20 miles
  • SAG (support and gear) vehicle and trailer
  • Riders can stay at Ridgecrest at a group rate (cost of the room is the riders responsibility)
  • Plus prizes starting at 650 dollars

  • EMI will provide additionally for all "whole way" riders:
  • meal on Oct 31

  • Bikers will be required to:
  • Pay registration fee -- $150.00
  • Participate in raising funds
  • Provide their own equipment: bikes, helmets, spare tubes/tires, water bottles, etc.
  • Meals (outside of the ride(s) and Sunday night) will be pay as you go. Ridgecrest will be providing meals. Ridgecrest meals can be firmed up during hotel resignation.



  • Costs, Fundraising & Guidelines:
    Registration Fee: We only ask for a $150 registration fee for those joining for both days. This fee helps to cover support vehicles and promotion of the ride.
    NOTE: Event will go regardless of weather, no refunds. Please note typical NC weather is in the 70’s for this time of year, however we will be in the mountains so be prepared.

    Sponsorship: We rely on the goodwill support of people like you. Without your help, we won't reach our $50,000 fundraising goal. But remember, the money is not about the cyclists. The funds we raise go to support EMI’s overseas offices around the world. We have rewards for various levels, including posting your corporate logo on the Bike jersey and advertizing your company on our web site (click here for more details).

    Fundraising: To ensure that our ride impacts those in need, we've set an ambitious goal and need everyone to pull their weight in helping us reach it. Each rider sets their own goal at or above our minimums.

    Packet Pick-Up: Will be at the near the EMI registration table, located at Pritchell Hall, on Friday Oct 29th, from 3pm to 6pm. Packets will also be available right before the event at Pritchell Hall on October 31 from 11:00 to 12:00pm. You can turn in your pledge sheets and funds (ie Checks should be made out to EMI) during these times.

    Fundraising Goals:
  • 25-50+ riders to raise $50,000+
  • To grow the EMI movement around the world.
  • Minimum Goals (Registration Fee + Fundraising):
  • Sunday rider, 38 miles: $500 minimum (example: 15 sponsors at one dollar for each mile)
  • Monday rider: 62 miles $1,500 (15 dollars a mile or fifteen sponsors at a buck a mile)

  • So if you are riding just Sunday, the minimum Goal (Registration Fee + Fundraising): are 650.00
    Or if you are riding 100+ miles (either in two days or one) the Minimum Goals (Registration Fee + Fundraising): is 1650.00

      Fundraising Rewards:
  • $US 650- jersey
  • $US 1650- hydration pack (+ jersey)
  • $US 5000- bike * (+ jersey)
  • $US 10,000- nicer bike * (+ jersey)
  • $US 15,000- really nice bike * (+ jersey)
  • * Either a mountain or road bike (Note we are still working with Sponsors on these items)

      Shipping your Bike?
    If you use FedEx Ground, it takes 4-5 days and cost around $50.00. FYI if you ship you bike on the plane, as extra baggage – the cost can be around 100.00 (apx) depending on the airline. This would assume it is the second piece of luggage. Shipping Boxes can be picked up at your local bike store, and probably cost 10 bucks.

But we wanted to get the word out to have you start training and raising pledges. We will be updating the web-site as we work out ride related details.

    Your support is key as we expand HIS services around the world. Funds will go to designing churches, hospitals, schools & orphanages for ministries serving the poor and sharing the Gospel around the world. Once you sign up we will send you materials to use in documenting your fundraising.
